Glacier Bay, AK

We woke up early to the magical, misty world of Glacier Bay. We ordered a room service breakfast so we wouldn’t miss our balcony views...as we cruised up the various inlets.

Some of the scenery is so dramatic, I had to change it to black and white to try to do Mike's photos justice

Sea otters are cuteness personified
We spotted a lone mountain goat and more than one sea otter lazily floating along on its back.

We had park rangers on board. The one woman, Ranger Katie gave a wonderful presentation from the bridge including reading Alaskan poetry and prose about this spectacular area. Thanks to climate change and their natural life cycles

Thanks to climate change and their natural life cycles, many of these glaciers may disappear in our lifetimes, The rangers have also brought photos of what the glaciers use to look like when some of the tidal glaciers reached the waterline.

Since we were so close to a majestic tidal glacier called Margerie, we could hear and see it calving. Stunning!!!

Various birds taken a breather on the icebergs recently calved

The various blues were brillian

Sublime...we just couldn't get enough of this scenery!!! People were so in awe that most were whispering...everyone was so busy listening to nature...

We were beyond blessed to have the sunshine! This area gets a tremendous amount of rain and snow, so having the sun is the exception not the rule. The park limits cruise ships to only two a day to cut down on the pollution.

One of our bad selfies, but we were so thrilled to have this experience
Since we arose so early, a siesta was in order before enjoying all the nightly entertainment. We really enjoyed a young highly talented acoustic guitarist James Naldo, who played a wonderful array of music before we went to

                  ...the “British Invasion” production show.

This quote made us think of our champagne loving friends...

There are so many lovely individuals working on these ships to make our time on them special!
While listening to James acoustic guitar music, we were able to appreciate the Alaskan coastline with its snow covered mountains appearing to float among the clouds. Sublime!!!
